Overpass From Gaisano Mall to Ayala Centrio Mall
It is awesome to hear that these 2 big malls in Cagayan de Oro will make an overpass to help the heavy traffic of the crossing pedestrian lane on this area. I hope that this planned will be done As Soon As possible. The columnist Ben Contreras disclosed this planned of the 2 malls in his column in Gold Star Daily and it said
“Gaisano and Centrio will be interconnected via overpass”
If this overpass proposed will be contracted then it is a big help to the mall shoppers of these 2 malls and safer crossing to overpass than crossing to the pedestrian lane.
Will SM Premiere of Cagayan de Oro and Limketkai Mall will do the same once the SM Premiere will be done constricting?
If SM Premiere will be done constructing then there will be 4 malls in downtown of Cagayan de Oro, the question is who will be the last mall to stand in the next few decades?

It is a wonderful idea to build this overpass, but when will it be constructed, five years, ten? In the meantime, I see people endangering their lives crossing the avenue regularly.
And, more to the point, the coming SM mall is entirely unnecessary. We already have three malls within walking distance of each other. This will, as history has shown in other parts of the world, result in failure of one or more malls. We will see large numbers of closed stores, lack of maintenance, and a generally poor shopping experience.
Our city is only moderate in size. We do not need another mall. And, I’m not including the SM mall in Lumbia. We have Ayala, catering to higher end citizens and tourists, Limketkai serving as the middle, and Gaizano on the lower end. Why do we need another?
This is one more example of the lack of planning and management skills here in the Philippines. From the horrible service at stores like Gaizano to the inability of our fast food restaurants to keep even basic items like soft drinks and napkins in stock.
