Launching of Maternal Care Package @ Camaman-an
Camaman-an became the seventh barangay in Cagayan de Oro City to avail of the Maternal Care Package after Philhealth accredited its barangay health center as a maternity care provider wherein pregnant women who are Philhealth members can now give birth at the health facility for free.
City Mayor Oscar Moreno led the Maternal Care Package launching ceremony on April 10, 2014, together with City Councilor Zaldy Ocon, PB Peter Arda, City Health Officer Dr. Fe Bongcas, City Health Insurance Officer Dr. Malou Gaane, Health Consultant Dr. Ignacio Moreno, Mr. Marlon Arrabaca of Philhealth Regional Office, and many others.
To date, the city government has already launched the Maternal Care Package in barangays Lumbia, Calaanan in Canitoan, Carmen, Bugo, Cugman and Tablon.
MCP is one of Mayor Moreno’s flagship programs aimed at improving the delivery of health services of the 54 barangay health centers all over the city, which were left unattended by the local government for the past years.
Highlighting the launching ceremony was the turnover of assorted medical supplies, equipment and medicines to the health center personnel.
