Proud Mindanaoan: President Rody Duterte Now an Anime Hero
A video uploaded online features the Philippine President as the main character in what seemed to be a cartoon in Japanese-style animation with a background song that is also in Japanese. The anime is entitled “El Presidente:”
The animation shows Duterte in some iconic scenarios such as him being interviewed by members of the media. It also showed him several times with the Philippine flag.
There are also what looked like supporters of the President; wearing red and blue baller bands and head piece with the signage that read “Duterte!”
There was also an animation of the President in his first State of the Nation Address; facing congressmen at the House of Representatives session hall.
His key allies Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and Philippine National Police chief Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa also have their own moments in the video that runs for 1:27 minutes.
And of course, since this is a homage to the Japanese animation, Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was also shown shaking the hands of Duterte.
The video was uploaded on both Facebook and You tube. It was originally posted on the account of Facebook user Bisayaball where it has been viewed for more than 532,000 times on Facebook with 13,000 impressions.
