Cagayan de Oro 1st Presidential Debate Useless for the Mindanao Journalist
This is just my own opinion for the Cagayan de Oro first Presidential debate that will be held at the Mini-Theater of Cagayan Capitol University this coming February 21, 2016 Sunday. The first statement of the organizer of this event allows only 5 slots for the local media for newspaper reporters and another 5 slots in the event media center through a monitor.
This is insane slots for the local media and looks discrimination for them who would like to cover the 1st Presidential Debate in the Philippines to share broadcast to the people of Cagayan de Oro on what happen on that debate.
After the local media threatened that they will boycott the said event even the Presidential candidate Davao Mayor Duterte said that he will not attend the debate because of the limited slots of the local media. Yesterday the COMELEC and their national media partner GMA-7 is increasing the slots of the Mindanao journalist who will attend on the event from 5 slots they will give 10-25 slots (bravo)…
But WTF, they don’t allow to bring cameras and other equipment to cover the event but only to tweet it (kapa ninyo nag inbitar pa mo ug local Media).. So they will only bring ball pen and notebook to take down all the words that come out to the mouth of the candidates? Don’t be bias, supposedly the local media has the right to broadcast this event because their City is the host for this event but I think the National Media is doing this for their own network interest not for the people to know. If this is the case that the Mindanao Media don’t allow to bring their equipment then this is a USELESS debate to cover..
