The St. Ignatius statue just outside Lucas Hall (1960) — according to school records, St. Ignatius’ sword was stolen and replaced thrice since 1933 up to present.

XUHS Circa 1960 — Chances are one of these naughty students punished by the Prefect of Discipline stole St. Ignatius’ sword (just kidding). Yep, do something bad and you’ll be on post with a real M1 Garand rifle, not some fake wooden dummy you see nowadays.

St. Augustine Cathedral

Arrival Honors for President Emilio Aguinaldo during his October 1924 visit. The Rizal Monument as seen in 1924. This was donated to the people of Cagayan de Misamis by spouses Don Porfirio Chaves and Dona Fausta Vamenta. According the hisorians Teddy Bautista and Nannette Roa this is mainly made of marine stones, with inscription in Spanish that can still be seen today.

This was inaugurated in 1917 ( most probably on 30 December). At the foreground are the surviving company of the Revolucionarios in their military regalia. The buildings in the background, were the site (in 1931) of Hotel Cagayan de Oro (Bautista) and the Municipio (Roa) which today is the site of the Philippine Veterans Bank. Per historical accounts, the building on the near right burned in 1931, after which the Municipio was built. Notice the Kiosk, built in 1911, at the far left still stands today (albeit, restored).
