COMELEC Official and His Supplier Busted During Buy-Bust Operation In CDO

Two illegal drug suspects, one of them an election official, were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations here, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Thursday.

Wilkins Villanueva, PDEA regional director in Northern Mindanao, identified the suspects as Jose Mari Villar Fernandez, 40, of Iponan, Cagayan de Oro City, and Clint Abaday Pagapulaan, 40, of Mulawan, Patag, also in Cagayan de Oro.

Fernandez, officer-in-charge of the municipal Comelec office in Gitagum, Misamis Oriental, was nabbed while allegedly selling shabu to a poseur buyer on Wednesday morning.

Seized from Fernandez were 10.22 grams of shabu estimated to cost P68,000 and the P1,000 buy-bust money.
Villanueva said Pagapulaan was nabbed during a buy-bust in Patag on Wednesday afternoon with a sachet of shabu worth P 200.

He added that the suspects were detained at the PDEA regional detention center in Cagayan de Oro.
