CEPALCO Green Office

Cagayan de Oro Electric Power and Light Company (CEPALCO), the country’s first electric company to use solar power will have their new office building in masterson’s avenue, uptown cagayan de oro. the building will have 4 floors with 11,537.55 sq.m. gross floor area and 50,547.46 sq.m. lot area or 5 hectares more or less.

The design also exhibits a glassy facade with the large company logo and some solar panels on the roof. The rendering was published on the company website of Asian Technicon Managers and Consultants, Inc.

The CEPALCO new building aims to be a “Green Building” .

So what is Green Building?

Green building (also known as green construction or sustainable building) refers to a structure and using process that is environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition. This requires close cooperation of the design team, the architects, the engineers, and the client at all project stages. The Green Building practice expands and complements the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort.

Although new technologies are constantly being developed to complement current practices in creating greener structures, the common objective is that green buildings are designed to reduce the overall impact of the built environment on human health and the natural environment by:
