City Museum Of Cagayan de Oro
Have you visited the City Museum of Cagayan de Oro? It is in front of Gaston Park, one of the historical places in the heart of the City. Aside from the museum inside Xavier University, we have the City Museum of Cagayan de Oro, which is the Water Tower.
The City Museum of Cagayan de Oro was formerly a Water Tank Tower built in 1922 but it was renovated and improved into a museum in 2008. It is the oldest public structure in the city as it has withstood the bombings during the war. It was recognized by the city government as the National Museum of the Philippines for its “adaptive reuse of a heritage structure”.
If you like to visit our City Museum it opens from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and is closed on Holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Our City Museum has 3 levels, the ground level where photos of famous Kagay-anons who made a big contribution to the city which allow you to take photos while the second and third floors hold photos of the lifestyle and events of the old city.
I’m sure lots of Kagay-anons didn’t know that this Water Tank Tower is our City Museum. We know that right now we are focusing on the CDO Development in our City but how about our historical places do you know where to find them? It’s time to explore our City and know what are the historical places and buildings that were witnessed during the World War.
How about you? Do you know some historical places or buildings in the City of Cagayan de Oro then share them with us via our Facebook Page.
Dapat open sa weekends ang museum para ma accommodate ang mga students ug workers. I suggest sa weekdays mag close like on a monday or on a friday.
