Unbeaten Filipino boxer Albert Pagara encountered a familiar name in mixed martial arts while preparing for his second fight on American soil.
Pagara, who holds the WBO Intercontinental super bantamweight title, is currently training with UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos under the tutelage of strength and conditioning coach Nick Curson.
Curson posted a video of Pagara and Dos Anjos engaging in different variations of medicine ball drills on Instagram.
The 22-year-old boxer from Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental is scheduled to face Mexican journeyman Cesar Juarez on July 9 at the San Mateo Event Center, San Mateo, California.
Currently ranked No. 9 in the world in the junior featherweight (122 pounds) division, Pagara seeks to move up in the ladder at the expense of Juarez, who is coming off two-straight losses.
