The City Council committee on laws and rules chaired by Councilor Ian Mark Nacaya referred to the City Legal Office and City Mayor’s Office the offer of Pacific Paint (Boysen) Philippines to repaint island railings, flyovers and pedestrian overpasses in Cagayan de Oro city.
A meeting was held last August 6, 2016, which was attended by representatives of Boysen Philippines and Cagayan de Oro Second District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) with Councilor Zaldy Ocon, chair of the committee on public works to discuss the proposal.
The company offered to provide all the materials and labor necessary to complete the repainting works. For and in consideration of the repainting works, the proposed memorandum of agreement (MOA) provides that the city shall allow the company to install its logo and tagline on the named railings and footbridge.
In his endorsement, DPWH District Engineer Anastacio G. Marundan said in order to adhere with DPWH standards, the official colors to be used for repainting should be beige and brown for pedestrian overpass and striped black and white for flyovers.
A representative of Boysen Paints informed the committee on laws and rules that the company also forged a memorandum of agreement with the government of Davao City for the implementation of its repainting project. (SP)
