Proposal Railway Project in Mindanao Finalizing Within 90 Days
According to Arthur Tugade the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) secretary that they are in the process of finalizing the proposal of railway project for Mindanao and targeting to finished in 90 days and will be submitted to the National Economic and Development Authority.
This railway system project for Luzon to Mindanao is one of the biggest projects of President Duterte. The 2,000 kilometers of railways connecting Mindanao’s major cities has estimated project cost at P78 billion.
Phase 1 includes the construction of a 124-km rail line from Iligan City to Cagayan de Oro City. It will span in 10 coastal municipalities in Misamis Oriental including Lugait, Manticao, Naawan, Initao, Libertad, Gitagum, Laguindingan, Alubi-jid, El Salvador, and Opol.
