P5.8-Billion The Biggest Proposed Budget Under The Moreno Administration For Cagayan de Oro in 2018
CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Oscar Moreno has submitted a P5.8-billion budget, the biggest budget proposed under the Moreno administration. Councilor Edna Dahino, chairperson of the committee on finance, said the budget deliberations will commence next week. The P5,382,396,280 is placed under the general fund, while the remaining P417,603,720 is allocated under the special account or the operation of the city economic enterprise.
Dahino said the general fund is where the city will source its priority projects for next year, while the special account is where it will source the operations of the city’s enterprises such as the markets.
Last year, the City Council approved P4.5 billion of the proposed P5.4-billion budget for 2017. The City Council slashed P1 billion from the total budget as Dahino explained earlier that the slashed portion are for programs that are not considered urgent and could be approved later on.
